LANCASTER LEBANON HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RELIES ON VOLUNTEER LABOR, GIFTED BUILDING MATERIALS, AND PARTNERHSIPS WITH SUBCONTRACTORS TO MAKE HOME-BUILD PROJECTS AFFORDABLE FOR ITS LOW-INCOME FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS WHO HAVE A NEED FOR HOUSING (I.E. THEIR RENTAL IS NOT SAFE, WARM, DRY, OR AFFORDABLE.) THE HOMEBUYERS CONTRIBUTE SWEAT EQUITY HOURS AND BUY THE HOME WITH A ZERO- INTEREST MORTGAGE. HABITAT HAS THE RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL IF THE HOMEBUYER EVER CHOOSES TO SELL, WHICH CAN ALLOW HABITAT TO PLACE A NEW HABITAT HOWMEBUYER IN THE HOME.
