HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (LOCAL AFFILIATE) ADHERES TO A STRICT NON-PROSELYTIZING POLICY AND WILL NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE ON THE EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED CONDITION THAT PEOPLE MUST ADHERE TO OR CONVERT TO A PARTICULAR FAITH OR LISTEN AND RESPOND TO MESSAGING DESIGNED TO INDUCE CONVERSION TO A PARTICULAR FAITH.

HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM: WE BUILD NEW HOMES, PURCHASE OR RECEIVE DONATED DISTRESSED AND BLIGHTED PROPERTIES FOR HOMEOWNERSHIP. HOMES ARE BUILT TO MATCH THE NEIGHBORHOOD THEY ARE LOCATED AND ARE PRICED AT APPRAISAL VALUE, USUALLY COMPARABLE TO SURROUNDING PROPERTIES. VOLUNTEERS ARE UTILIZED FOR CONSTRUCTION AND SUPERVISED BY HABITAT STAFF ADHERING TO STRICT SAFETY PROTOCOLS. FUTURE HOMEOWNERS CONTRIBUTE SWEAT EQUITY BY VOLUNTEERING ON CONSTRUCTION SITES OR IN OTHER HABITAT ACTIVITIES. HOMES ARE SOLD TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES USING AN AFFORDABLE MORTGAGE. AFFORDABLE MEANS THAT NO MORE THAN 30% OF THE HOUSEHOLD INCOME WOULD BE SPENT FOR HOUSING (MORTGAGE PAYMENT, PROPERTY TAX, AND PROPERTY INSURANCE). THE MONEY THAT IS MADE FOR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS IS DEPOSITED INTO A FUND FOR HUMANITY AND USED TO FURTHER OUR MISSION. WE STRIVE TO PROVIDE HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO POPULATIONS THAT HAVE FACED DISCRIMINATION AND SOCIAL INJUSTICE FOR GENERATIONS DUE TO POOR PUBLIC POLICY AND BIAS. IN FY22 WE TRANSFERRED 7 HOMES TO PARTNER FAMILIES, AN INCREASE OF 1 HOME FROM THE PRIOR YEAR.
RESTORE PROGRAM: THIS IS A DISCOUNT HOME IMPROVEMENT AND BUILDING SUPPLY STORE. RESTORE REUSES, RECYCLES, AND RESELLS FUNCTIONAL BUILDING MATERIALS, TOOLS, FURNITURE, AND APPLIANCES, THEREBY DIVERTING HUNDREDS OF TONS OF USABLE MATERIALS FROM LANDFILLS. CUSTOMERS ARE PROVIDED A LOW-COST OPTION TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR HOME.
