THE CONSTRUCTED HOMES ARE SOLD TO PRE-SELECTED FAMILIES AT A VALUE THAT APPROXIMATES COSTS THROUGH NO-INTEREST FINANCING PROVIDED BY THE ORGANIZATION.

SURPLUS AND DONATED ITEMS ARE SOLD WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF REDUCING MATERIALS GOING INTO THE LANDFILLS AND PROVIDING THE COMMUNITY WITH ITEMS FOR REMODELING AT LOW PRICES.
TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES THAT CANNOT AFFORD COMMERCIAL MORTGAGES BY BUILDING AND REHABILITATING HOMES USING DONATED SUPPLIES, VOLUNTEER LABOR, CONTRIBUTED FUNDS AND PROPERTIES. THE CONSTRUCTED HOMES ARE SOLD TO PRE-SELCTED FAMILIES AT A VALUE THAT APPROXIMATES COSTS THROUGH NO-INTEREST FINANCING PROVIDED BY THE ORGANIZATION.
AFTER A HOME IS COMPLETED, THE MORTGAGE IS DISCOUNTED USING THE EFFECTIVE INTEREST METHOD OVER THE LIFE OF THE MORTGAGE. IN ADDITION, A PORTION OF THE REVENUE IS REMITTED TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL, INC. AS AN ANNUAL TITHE.
