THE MISSION OF CHOSHEN FARM IS TO IMPACT RURAL ZAMBIA FOR CHRIST THROUGH RELATIONAL ENCOURAGEMENT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, AND STRENGTHENING OF THE LOCAL CHURCH.

EDUCATION: CHOSHEN FARM OPERATES FIMPULU CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. THE SCHOOL EDUCATES 430 STUDENTS FROM THE SURROUNDING VILLAGES IN 10 CLASSES FROM PRESCHOOL THROUGH GRADE SIX. THE SCHOOL EMPLOYS 19 ZAMBIAN TEACHERS, 2 LIBRARIANS, 2 COACHES, 2 GROUNDWORKERS AND 3 CUSTODIANS. A FEEDING PROGRAM PREPARED AND SERVED BY 5 VILLAGE COOKS PROVIDES A DAILY LUNCH FOR ALL STUDENTS.


AGRICULTURE: CHOSHEN FARM OPERATES A WORKING FARM THAT EMPLOYS 8 VILLAGE FARM WORKERS. THE FARM RAISES CHICKENS FOR FOOD SALES TO THE COMMUNITY AND TO SUPPORT THE FEEDING PROGRAM AT FIMPULU CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. THE FARM OPERATES A LIVESTOCK RESERVE CO-OP THAT BOARDS GOATS AND PIGS FOR THE VILLAGERS AND RETURNS THE PROFIT TO THE MEMBERS. THIS ALLOWS VILLAGE CROPS TO FLOURISH WITHOUT DAMAGE FROM FREE-RANGE ANIMALS. THE FARM EDUCATES AND ENCOURAGES LOCAL FARMERS TO GROW MAIZE, SOYA BEANS AND GROUND NUTS. THESE CROPS ARE PURCHASED BY THE FARM FOR COOKING OIL PRODUCTION AND ANIMAL FEED FOR THE LIVESTOCK RESERVE.


CAMP & CONFERENCE CENTER: CHOSHEN FARM OPERATES A CAMP & CONFERENCE RETREAT CENTER. THEY HOST A SMALL NUMBER OF CHOSHEN FARM LED CONFERENCES, BUT MAINLY RENT THE FACILITIES TO LOCAL CHURCHES AND OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS. CAMP STAFF INCLUDE 3 CAMP HOSTS AND 2 CLEANER/COOKS.
