NPP MANAGED THE STATE-WIDE MEDIA CAMPAIGN TO ALERT THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC AND OTHER HEALTH AND COMMUNITY CONCERNS. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES AND OTHER LOCAL AND STATEWIDE MEDIA PARTNERS, NPP MANAGED THE TN TOGETHER CAMPAIGN, PRODUCED VIDEOS PUBLIC SERVICE ADS FOR THE HAVE THE CONVERSATION CAMPAIGN AND PRODUCED A DOCUMENTARY CALLED TRANSITIONS IN LIVING: A HOUSE THAT RECOVERY BUILT.
NPP ENVIRONMENTAL PREVENTION STRATEGIES TO PREVENT AND REDUCE BINGE DRINKING, NON-MEDICAL DRUGE USE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS AND UNDERAGE SMOKING. THE NASHVILLE PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP CONDUCTS UNDERAGE BEER BUYS WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, PRESCRIPTION AND OTC DRUG-DROP OFF EVENTS, AS WELL AS MEDIA CAMPAIGNS TO ENCOURAGE THE PUBLIC NOT TO ENGAGE IN HARMFUL AND ABUSIVE USE OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. IN ADDITION, WE HOST SEVERAL TRAININGS, AND TOWN HALL MEETINGS.
NPP STARTED A PROGRAM CALLED TN SAVE A LIFE. THE PROGRAM IS IN RESPONSE TO THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, NASHVILLE DAVIDSON COUNTY AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE PROGRAM HAS THREE COMPONENTS: 1. TRAIN MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS ON THE LATEST EPIDEMIOLOGICAL AND BEST PRACTICES RELATED TO TREATING PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM PHYSICAL PAIN AND OR SUFFERING FROM THE DISEASE OF OPIOID ADDICTION. 2. ALERT THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC AND HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSE. 3. TRAIN FIRST RESPONDERS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND LAY PEOPLE ON HOW TO ADMINISTER NALOXONE- A DRUG THAT REVERSES OVERDOSE. NPP ALSO SUPPLIES NALOXONE TO INDIVIDUALS, AND INSTITUTIONS THAT NEED NALOXONE UNDER A GRANT WITH THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES.
