COMMON THREADS LAUNCHED FOUR (4) NEW SCHOOL GARDENS AND SUSTAINED GARDENING AND COOKING PROGRAMS AT A TOTAL OF TWENTY-FOUR (24) SCHOOLS ACROSS FIVE (5) SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN WHATCOM COUNTY.COMMON THREADS FACILITATED AFTER SCHOOL COOKING AND GARDENING PROGRAMS FOR 6,700 CHILDREN ACROSS 26 PROGRAMMING SITES, WITH A FOCUS ON SERVICES TO YOUTH IN COMMUNITIES WITH LESS RESOURCES.


COMMON THREADS' FOOD TRUCK SERVED OVER 4,400 FREE, FRESH, NUTRITIOUS, DELICIOUS MEALS TO LOW-INCOME KIDS IN HARD TO REACH TIMES AND PLACES DURING ITS INAUGURAL YEAR OF SERVICE. THE FOOD TRUCK VISITED AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMPLEXES, MIGRANT FARM WORKER HOUSING AND RURAL COMMUNITY CENTERS.


COMMON THREADS ENGAGED 25 AMERICORPS SERVICE MEMBERS IN MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY SERVICE. SERVICE MEMBERS MET THE EDUCATIONAL, RECREATIONAL, AND NUTRITIONAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN WHILE IMPROVING THEIR OWN SKILLS AS TEACHERS, FARMERS, COOKS, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS.
