Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
BY THE END OF FY21, LOS ANGELES BALLET HAD EXPANDED ITS FREE COMMUNITY DANCE CLASSES FROM A ONCE-PER-MONTH DAY OF CLASSES AT LAB'S STUDIOS IN WEST LOS ANGELES TO TWICE-MONTHLY DAYS OF FREE ONLINE CLASSES. AS A RESULT, ATTENDANCE INCREASED FROM APPROXIMATELY 100 COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN LOS ANGELES PER MONTH TO THOUSANDS OF CLASS ATTENDEES ACROSS THE GLOBE EACH MONTH. THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO INCREASE IN PROGRAM BUDGET AND PROVIDED SIX TEACHING ARTISTS WITH EMPLOYMENT DURING THE PANDEMIC. PRODUCED NO DIRECT REVENUE, BUT INDIRECTLY CONTRIBUTED TO REVENUE OF $127,000 IN GIVING TO LAB'S ANNUAL FUND DRIVE AND PANDEMIC RELIEF FUND.CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O...LOS ANGELES BALLET PRODUCED ITS FIRST-EVER VIRTUAL EVENT/PERFORMANCE, CLARA'S VIRTUAL NUTCRACKER TEA, BRINGING AN INTERACTIVE HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE TO FAMILIES DURING PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN. EMPLOYED DANCERS AND PRODUCTION STAFF AND RAISED $135,000 TO SUPPORT LAB. TICKETS TO THE VIRTUAL EVENT WERE DONATED TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AT PARTNER NON-PROFIT, AVIVA FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S SERVICES.ALTHOUGH NOT PROGRAMMATIC, BECAUSE OF THE EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCE FACED DURING THE TAX YEAR, IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT STAFF, INCLUDING ALL LEADERSHIP AND DANCERS, MADE PERSONAL FINANCIAL SACRIFICES IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE ORGANIZATION'S HEALTH. FURLOUGHS, PARTIAL OR FULL, REDUCED SALARY EXPENSES BY $600,000 COMPARED TO THE MOST RECENT PRE-PANDEMIC FISCAL YEAR.
