THE YWCA OF THE MOHAWK VALLEY IS A NONSECTARIAN MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO ITS MISSION OF ELIMINATING RACISM, EMPOWERING WOMEN AND PROMOTING PEACE, JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND DIGNITY FOR ALL.

THE YWCA MOHAWK VALLEY'S DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SEXUAL VIOLENCE NON-RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDE 24-HOUR CRISIS INTERVENTION SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, 365 DAYS A YEAR, TO VICTIMS AND SECONDARY VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE. SERVICES INCLUDE 24-HOUR HOTLINE, ADVOCACY/ACCOMPANIMENT THROUGH MEDICAL, POLICE AND COURT PROCEEDINGS, SHORT-TERM COUNSELING, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND MANDATED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EDUCATION CLASSES. IN 2022 WE SERVED 4,045.


THE YWCA MOHAWK VALLEY'S COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION EDUCATION THROUGHOUT HERKIMER AND ONEIDA COUNTIES TO INCREASE AWARENESS AMONG STUDENTS (KINDERGARTEN-COLLEGE) REGARDING PREVALENCE, IMPACT, AND WHERE TO GO FOR HELP IF NEEDED. INFORMATION ADDRESSED INCLUDES BULLYING, DATING VIOLENCE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ABUSE/ASSAULT, AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT. IN 2022 WE SERVED 4,295.


THE YWCA MOHAWK VALLEY'S SEXUAL VIOLENCE SERVICES AND CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER OF HERKIMER COUNTY PROVIDES 24-HOUR CRISIS, ADVOCACY AND COUNSELING SERVICES, AS WELL AS SUPPORT AND INFORMATION TO CHILD AND ADULT SEXUAL VIOLENCE VICTIMS AND SECONDARY VICTIMS WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES OF HERKIMER COUNTY. IN 2022 WE SERVED 299.


THE YWCA MOHAWK VALLEY'S RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM INCLUDES HALL HOUSE - A 16-BED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER, LUCY'S HOUSE - A 6-BED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SAFE DWELLING, RAPID RE-HOUSING, AND SAFE HORIZONS - A TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. ALL SERVICES PROVIDED ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL. IN 2022 WE SERVED 279.
