TODAY'S STUDENTS, TOMORROW'S TEACHERS' ("TSTT") MAJOR PROGRAM, TEACHER CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, IS A CAREER DEVELOPMENT MENTORING PROGRAM THAT RECRUITS, MENTORS AND TRAINS CULTURALLY DIVERSE AND ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENTS FROM HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH COLLEGE, AND PLACES THEM AS EFFECTIVE TEACHERS AND COMMITTED LEADERS WHO STRENGTHEN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITITIES. TSTT'S VISION IS TO BE THE NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT MODEL THAT IS RECOGNIZED FOR ADDRESSING TEACHER SHORTAGES AND INCREASING THE NUMBER OF CULTURALLY DIVERSE EDUCATORS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS.

TEACHER CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IS A CAREER DEVELOPMENT MENTORING PROGRAM THAT RECRUITS, MENTORS AND TRAINS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS TO PURSUE A CAREER IN TEACHING. TSTT ALUMNI HAVE ATTAINED GRADUATE DEGREES AND 90% REMAIN IN THE PROFESSIONAL FIVE OR MORE YEARS COMPARED TO 50% NATIONALLY.TSTT PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, ACADEMIC SUPPORT, MENTORING AND COUNSELING, COLLEGE VISITS, ASSIGNED HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER MENTORS, ASSIGNED COLLEGE MENTORS FROM THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION, HANDS ON SHADOWING, OBSERVATION AND CO-TEACHING EXPERIENCES, SAT PREPARATION TRAINING, SUMMER INTERNSHIPS, MOCK INTERVIEWS WITH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE, AND MINIMUM 50% COLLEGE TUITION SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY.
