THERE ARE 3 COMPONENTS OF GO'S WORK: (1) TAPPING THE NATIONAL SERVICE MOVEMENT TO RECRUIT YOUNG PEOPLE TO TUTOR AND MENTOR STUDENTS THROUGH THE FEDERAL AMERICORPS PROGRAM; (2) COMBATTING RACISM AND INTENTIONALLY HIRING A GROUP OF TUTORS WHO REFLECT THE DIVERSITY OF THE CHILDREN THEY SERVE; (3) CREATING A PATHWAY TO THE CLASSROOM BY INVITING A SELECT GROUP OF TUTORS INTO GO'S TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAM. IN THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR GO WILL BE BRINGING ITS HIGH-DOSAGE TUTORING PROGRAM TO CHILDREN IN WASHINGTON DC PUBLIC SCHOOLS. WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CITYTUTOR AND THE OFFICE OF THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, GO TUTORS WILL BE WORKING WITH STUDENTS IN BOTH CHARTER AND DISTRICT-RUN SCHOOLS.
