GREAT OAKS FOUNDATION (GO) PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH ACCESS TO A QUALITY EDUCATION THROUGH HIGH-DOSAGE TUTORING. THERE ARE 3 COMPONENTS OF GO'S WORK: TAPPING THE POWER OF NATIONAL SERVICE TO RECRUIT YOUNG PEOPLE TO TUTOR STUDENTS THROUGH THE FEDERAL AMERICORPS PROGRAM; COMBATTING RACISM AND INTENTIONALLY HIRING A DIVERSE GROUP OF TUTORS TO REFLECT THE CHILDREN WE SERVE; CREATING A PIPELINE OF TALENT TO THE CLASSROOM BY INVITING A SELECT GROUP OF TUTORS INTO A TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAM.ACROSS THE PROGRAM, THE SHARE OF STUDENTS IN GRADES SERVED BY FELLOWS WHO MET FALL 2020 TO FALL 2021 GROWTH TARGETS IMPROVED 15 AND 9 PERCENTAGE POINTS IN READING AND MATH, RESPECTIVELY, COMPARED TO STUDENTS IN GRADES NOT SERVED BY FELLOWS.
