THIS PAST YEAR, AMERICA ACHIEVES PIVOTED OUR ORGANIZATION, TRACK RECORD, NETWORKS, AND EXPERTISEAND OUR KNOW-HOW AS AN INCUBATORTO GENERATE IDEAS AND ESTABLISH PROGRAMS TO HELP ADDRESS TODAY'S COVID-19 CRISIS AND INVEST IN LONG-TERM REBUILDING AND RECOVERY AS WE MOVE PAST COVID-19 IN THE COMING YEARS. PROGRAMS WE INITIATED THIS PAST YEAR INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:BACK TO WORK PROJECT: THE AIM OF THE BACK TO WORK PROJECT IS TO INFORM PUBLIC POLICY AND IMPLEMENTATION THAT CAN EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES WITH AN EVIDENCE-BASED BLEND OF PAID WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING, AND SUPPORT NEEDED FOR A GOOD JOB AND FOUNDATION FOR LONG-TERM ECONOMIC SECURITY. A STRONG EVIDENCE BASE HAS EMERGED SHOWCASING WHAT'S EFFECTIVEAND OUR WORK INFORMS PUBLIC POLICY AND IMPLEMENTATION THAT CAN TAKE THOSE EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES TO A LARGE SCALE. THE PROJECT INCLUDES POLICY DESIGN, RESEARCH, COALITION-BUILDING, AND COMMUNICATIONS TO INFORM THE FIELD ON WHAT'S NEEDED AND WHAT WORKS IN THIS FIELD. INVESTING IN AMERICA'S COMMUNITIES PROJECT: DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE BEGAN POLICY DEVELOPMENT UNDER THE BACK TO WORK PROJECT THAT SUBSEQUENTLY GREW INTO THE INVESTING IN AMERICA'S COMMUNITIES PROJECT. THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT IS TO ADVANCE STATE AND LOCAL INITIATIVES ADVANCING INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND ACCESS TO GOOD JOBS. THIS PROJECT RESEARCHES WHAT WORKS AND PROVIDES RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, STATES, AND LOCAL REGIONS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES TO INFORM AND SUPPORT THE COMMERCE DEPARTMENT'S GOOD JOBS CHALLENGE AND BUILD BACK BETTER REGIONAL CHALLENGE. THIS INCLUDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE TO STATE AND LOCAL INITIATIVES APPLYING FOR FEDERAL FUNDING TO ADVANCE THESE GOALS. WE ARE SUPPORTING INITIATIVES THAT HAVE STRONG LEADERSHIP, AND CAPACITY TO DELIVER ON THIS OPPORTUNITY AND THAT ARE ALIGNED WITH A SET OF CORE PRINCIPLES: DEEP COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH; CREATING GOOD, IN-DEMAND JOBS AND CAREERS WITH ECONOMIC MOBILITY AND PROVIDING TRAINING AND PATHWAYS TO THOSE JOBS; AND EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES THAT DRIVE MEASURABLE OUTCOMES.STATE RECOVERY NOW PROJECT: AMERICA ACHIEVES STATE RECOVERY NOW PROJECT IS PROVIDING IDEAS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HOW STATES, COUNTIES, AND CITIES CAN MAXIMIZE THE IMPACT INCLUDING THEIR SHARE OF THEIR AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (ARPA) SPENDING$350 BILLION IN ECONOMIC AID. OVERARCHING PRINCIPLES OF THE STATE RECOVERY NOW PROJECT INCLUDE EXPANDING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, DRIVING EQUITY, BUILDING A MORE RESILIENT ECONOMY, SEEDING AND SCALING INNOVATION, UTILIZING TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES, AND DRIVING COLLABORATIVE CROSS-AGENCY WORK ACROSS PUBLIC AGENCIES. STATE RECOVERY NOW IS FOCUSING MOST SIGNIFICANTLY ON TWO CORE ISSUES: WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND DIGITAL/BROADBAND ACCESS. NATIONAL TUTORING PROJECT: THE MISSION OF AMERICA ACHIEVES NATIONAL TUTORING PROJECT IS TO ENABLE UNDERSERVED STUDENTS NATIONWIDE TO ADVANCE THEIR ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND WELL-BEING. WE WILL ACCOMPLISH THIS MISSION BY HELPING SCHOOL DISTRICTS, EDUCATORS, STATES, PROGRAMS, RESEARCHERS, FOUNDATIONS, COMMUNITY GROUPS, AND OTHER PARTNERS WORK TOGETHER TO GROW SCALABLE PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES OF EVIDENCE-BASED TUTORING AND INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNINGAND EMBED EFFECTIVE PRACTICES INTO THE FABRIC OF PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEMATICALLY NOW AND FOR THE LONG TERM.
