SPREAD SECULAR SECONDARY EDUCATION AMONG POOR CHILDREN IN RURAL BANGLADESH, REDUCING DROPOUTS, IMPROVING QUALITY OF THEIR EDUCATION AND STRENGTHENING THEIR ACADEMIC AND EXTRA-ACADEMIC CAPABILITIES AND PERFORMANCES AS WELL AS THEIR COMPETENCES, AND IMPROVE RURAL SCHOOLS TO TRANSFORM THEM INTO QUALITY INSTITUTIONS.

FOR TEACHER EMPOWERMENT, VAB PROVIDED HONORARIUM TO 40 TEACHERS IN 20 SCHOOLS, TRANINING IN ENGLISH, MATH AND SCIENCE TO 100 TEACHERS IN 25 SCHOOLS, TRANINING IN COMPUTERS TO 75 TEACHERS IN 25 SCHOOLS SO THEY CAN BECOME TRAINERS OF STUDENTS, AND TRAINING IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS TO 30 TEACHERS IN 20 SCHOOLS SO THEY CAN TRAIN STUDENTS IN TURN. TAB ALSO ORGANIZED HEADMASTER'S SEMINARS FOR 25 PARTICIPANTS.FOR SCHOOL EMPOWERMENT, VAB GAVE 30 COMPUTERS TO 20 SCHOOLS AND FURNITURE TO 10 SCHOOLS. VAB ORGANIZED SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT WORKSHOPS IN 35 SCHOOLS.FOR COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT, VAB ORGRANIZED 40 PARENT-TEACHER MEETINGS IN 40 SCHOOLS.


VAB HAS A PACKAGE OF HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS (SECONDARY LEVEL EDUCATION IN BANGLADESH). THESE PROGRAMS ARE AIMED AT EMPOWERMENT OF FOUR MAJOR GROUPS OF STAKEHOLDERS IN RURAL EDUCATION - STUDENTS, TEACHERS, SCHOOLS, AND COMMUNITIES.FOR STUDENT EMPOWERMENT, VAB PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO 1,250 GIRLS AND BOYS, TUTORING TO 850 GRADE VI STUDENTS, AND ASSISTANCE FOR PARTICIPATION IN SCIENCE OLYMPIAD AND MATH OLYMPIAD TO 350 STUDENTS IN 40 SCHOOLS. VAB ALSO MENTORED MEMBERS OF STUDENT'S CLUB IN DEBATING, SPORTS, AND VOLUNTEERISM.STUDENT EMPOWERMENT IS ALSO FOSTERED THROUGH COMPETENCE ENHANCEMENT. VAB PROVIDED TRANINIG IN COMPUTERS TO 1,600 STUDENTS IN 20 SCHOOLS, TRAINING IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS TO 200 STUDENTS IN 20 SCHOOLS, AND MENTORING IN CITIZENSHIP QUALITY DEVELOPMENT TO 400 STUDENTS IN 20 SCHOOLS.
