THE CONNECTICUT PLAYERS FOUNDATION, INC. D/B/A LONG WHARF THEATRE (THE ORGANIZATION") IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION LOCATED IN NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT. FOUNDED IN 1965, LONG WHARF THEATRE'S MISSION STATES THAT IT "IS DEDICATED TO PRODUCING BOUNDARY-BREAKING THEATRE WITH AND FOR ITS MANY, KALEIDOSCOPIC COMMUNITIES." OVER ITS 59 YEARS, LONG WHARF THEATRE HAS GROWN TO BECOME A CELEBRATED THEATRE COMPANY WITH AN INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE. THEY INCUBATED SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYS THAT ARE NOW PART OF THE AMERICAN THEATRE CANON, INCLUDING THREE WINNERS OF THE PULITZER PRIZE FOR DRAMA. FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JULY 30, 2024, LONG WHARF THEATRE PRODUCED 73 PERFORMANCES OF THREE PLAYSTHE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING BY JOAN DIDION, A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE BY ARTHUR MILLER, AND AMM(I)GONE BY ADIL MANSOOR, PRODUCED IN SEVEN GREATER NEW HAVEN CITIES AND TOWNS, INCLUDING EIGHT NEW HAVEN NEIGHBORHOODS. THESE IN-PERSON, PROFESSIONALLY PRODUCED PRODUCTIONS WERE ATTENDED BY 5,381 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 272 FREE ADMISSIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THE THEATRE ALSO PRODUCED THE FOURTH ANNUAL BLACK TRANS WOMEN AT THE CENTER, A VIRTUAL FESTIVAL OF FIVE NEW SHORT PLAYS BY BLACK TRANS WOMEN PLAYWRIGHTS, ATTENDED BY 252 HOUSEHOLDS NATIONALLY. LONG WHARF THEATRE ALSO INVESTED IN 13 NEW PLAYS AND MUSICALS UNDER COMMISSION AND IN DEVELOPMENT, BUILDING A NEW CANON FOR A NEW AMERICAN THEATRE.
