OUR AIM IS TO ENLIGHTEN, ENRICH AND ENGAGE A DIVERSE COMMUNITY OF THEATER-LOVERS, ARTISTS AND STUDENTS BY PRESENTING EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL THEATER AND OFFERING A WELCOMING EXPERIENCE THAT PERPETUATES THE LONG TRADITION OF WESTPORT COUNTY PLAYHOUSE "RED BARN".

IN 2021, WESTPORT COUNTRY PLAYHOUSE HAD A SCALED DOWN SEASON OF ONE MAIN STAGE PRODUCTION AND ONE VIRTUAL PRODUCTION, IN ADDITION TO RELEASE OF TWO ARCHIVAL TAPES OF PRIOR PRODUCTIONS AND SEVERAL VIRTUAL PROGRAMS, DUE TO COVID PANDEMIC.
IN 2021, EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AT WESTPORT COUNTRY PLAYHOUSE SERVED WESTPORT AND NEIGHBORING TOWNS, AS WELL AS REACHED OUT TO UNDERSERVED URBAN COMMUNITIES OF BRIDGEPORT, NORWALK, NEW HAVEN, AND STAMFORD. THE FAMILY FESTIVITY SERIES FOR FAMILY AUDIENCES HAD TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO COVID PANDEMIC. THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT ALSO MANAGES THE WOODWARD INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, VIRTUALLY DURING 2021, AS NATIONALLY RESPECTED TRAINING PROGRAM FOR NEW AND EMERGING THEATER PROFESSIONALS.
