2023 COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE PROGRAM (GROWN USING ORGANIC PRINCIPLES AND METHODS) SUMMER CSA SHARES: 165 20-WEEK + 112 10-WEEK + 19 SUBSIDIZED + 30 PRODUCE RX + 22 STAFF AND WORK SHARES + 1 SPROUT FUNDRAISER = 349 TOTAL SHARES DISTRIBUTED; EXTENDED SEASON CSA SHARES: 114 FULL + 8 SUBSIDIZED + 9 STAFF AND WORK SHARES = 131 TOTAL SHARES DISTRIBUTED. FRUIT CSA SHARES: 148. MUSHROOM CSA SHARES: 104. *WFCF EXPERIENCED AN IMPACTFUL LOSS OF ACCESS TO 33% OF ITS PREVIOUSLY CULTIVATED FARMLAND (AND THUS REDUCED CSA SHARES OFFERED TO THE COMMUNITY) DUE TO THE CITY OF WALTHAM'S PROCESS FOR REMEDIATING A PORTION OF LAND AT THE REAR OF ITS PROPERTY. WFCF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS PROVIDED PLACE-BASED PROGRAMING FOR CHILDREN FROM THE GREATER BOSTON REGION, INCLUDING ENRICHMENT PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE WALTHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN 2023: 1,782 YOUTH WERE ENGAGED IN PROGRAMMING AND ADULT & FAMILY WORKSHOPS SERVED 179 PEOPLE.
VALUE OF PRODUCE FOR FOOD INSECURITY PROGRAMS IN 2023 WAS $102,733 (37,895 POUNDS).
