THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED WITH THE ROTARY CLUB OF GLENDALE SUNRISE AND THE GLENDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN ORGANIZING AN AWARDS PROGRAM AND LUNCHEON. THE PROGRAM RECOGNIZES FIREFIGHTERS IN THE GLENDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE. THE EVENT IS HELD ANNUALLY AND APPROXIMATELY 300 MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY ATTEND. THE RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BY THE GLENDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEY RECEIVE PLAQUES OR CERTIFICATES. ALSO, A CITIZEN IS RECOGNIZED FOR THE SERVICE ABOVE AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE/SUPPORT OF THE GLENDALE COMMUNITY. THE EVENT IS PRIMARILY AN AWARDS AND RECOGNITION EVENT AND IS NOT INTENDED TO RAISE FUNDS. ANY SURPLUS IS HELD BY THE FOUNDATION AND USED TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FIRE CADETS ENROLLED IN THE FIREFIGHTERS ACADEMY AT GLENDALE COLLEGE. NO SCHOLAARSHIPS WERE AWARDED IN 2014.
