REGIS HOUSE COMMUNITY CENTER (RHCC) IS A SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY THAT SERVES AS A SAFETY NET FOR HIGH-RISK FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN NEED, MANY LIVING BELOW POVERTY LEVEL. SERVICES INCLUDE, HOWEVER NOT LIMITED TO: INFORMATION AND REFERRALS FOR EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING, COUNSELING, FOOD, RENTERS RIGHTS, AND ADVOCACY. RHCC SERVES OVER 1,500 INDIVIDUALS ANNUALLY.BI-MONTHLY FOOD DISTRIBUTION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE LOS ANGELES REGIONAL FOOD AND THE DREAM CENTER; AIDING ON AVERAGE 75-80 HOUSEHOLDS (APPROXIMATELY 300 UNDUPLICATED INDIVIDUALS) WITH OVER 1,500 LBS OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS AND FRESH PRODUCE. EMERGENCY FOOD AND CLOTHING ARE ON HAND FOR WALK-IN CLIENTS AS NEEDED. HOLIDAY BASKETS WERE DISTRIBUTED AT THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS AND EASTER TO A TOTAL OF 90 FAMILIES.YOUTH PROGRAMS - (AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER DAY CAMP) PROVIDE A SAFE AND NUTURING ENVIRONMENT FOR 20-70 YOUTH DEPENDING ON THE PROGRAM. YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE, FIELD TRIPS, AND CLUB ACTIVITIES (COMMUNITY SERVICE, COOKING, FUNDRAISING, CRAFTS, AND LEADERSHIP/COMMUNICATION SKILLS) AND SPECIAL EVENTS. TEENS/COLLEGE AGE YOUTH ARE ALSO TRAINED AS SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELORS AND RECEIVE A STIPEND FOR COMPLETING THE SUMMER. RHCC COLLABORATES WITH LOCAL AGENCIES, BUSINESSES, SCHOOLS AND INDIVIDUALS, AND OFFERS THE CENTER AS A MEETING SPACE FOR COMMUNITY MEETINGS AND EVENTS. RHCC WILL BE A VOTING SITE FOR THE MARCH PRIMARY ELECTIONS, 2023.
