TWELVE OAKS FOUNDATION PROVIDES INDEPENDENT LIVING AND ASSISTED LIVING HOUSING AND SERVICES FOR OLDER ADULTS. TOF FACILITIES AND SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE PHYSICAL, SOCIAL, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS OF RESIDENTS AND PROMOTE HEALTH, SECURITY, HAPPINESS AND PURPOSEFULNESS.
TWELVE OAKS FOUNDATION ("FOUNDATION") SERVED THE ELDERLY FROM 1935 THROUGH OCTOBER 2013, THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A RETIREMENT HOME, TWELVE OAKS LODGE, IN GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA. OVER THE YEARS, THE HOME HAD BEEN UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE BOARDS OF VERDUGO HILLS SUNSHINE SOCIETY, NATIONAL CHARITY LEAGUE, INC.-GLENDALE ("NCL-GLENDALE"), AND THEN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PRESBYTERIAN HOMES ("SCPH"). SCPH'S CLOSURE OF THE HOME AND ITS EFFORTS TO SELL THE 4-ACRE PROPERTY TO A PRIVATE DEVELOPER LED TO A LAWSUIT FILED BY NCL-GLENDALE. UPON SETTLEMENT OF THE CASE IN AUGUST 2015, CONTROL OF THE FOUNDATION WAS RESTORED TO NCL-GLENDALE, WHO APPOINTED NEW DIRECTORS TO TWELVE OAKS FOUNDATION. RENOVATION WORK BEGAN IN DECEMBER 2016 AND THE HOME RE-OPENED TO RESIDENTS IN DECEMBER 2017. THE FOUNDATION'S EFFORTS IN (CON SCH O) 2019 CONSISTED OF CONTINUING TO RENOVATE ADDITIONAL BUILDINGS AND WORKING TOWARD FINANCIAL STABILIZATION BY FILLING ROOMS AS ADDITIONAL UNITS WERE RESTORED. 36 RESIDENTS LIVED AT TWELVE OAKS DURING 2019.
