The goal of this organization is to develop, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing that is available to people who qualify on the basis of income, age or disability for publicly subsidized housing e.g., HUD housing or housing assistance under Section 8 of the Housing and Urban Development Act.

THESE DONATIONS HAVE ALSO FURNISHED THE CAPITAL FOR A MODEST INVESTMENT ACCOUNT. THE THEOSOPHICAL ARCHIVES CONTAINS AROUND 35,000 BOOKS ON RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY AND SCIENCE AS WELL AS MANY OTHER TOPICS AND CONTINUES TO BE ADDED TO. THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF THEOSOPHICAL BOOKS AND ARTICLES CONTRIBUTES DIRECTLY TO THE EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE THEOSOPHICAL ENDOWMENT CORPORATION AND ITS PARENT ORGANIZATION, THE THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY, AS THAT PURPOSE IS SET FORTH IN THE ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION.

IST, ARC WAS FOUNDED IN ORDER TO BENEFIT THE INHABITANTS OF THE ALTADENA & PASADENA AREAS OF THE W.SAN GABRIEL VALLEY OF LA COUNTY, CALIF., BY SUPPORTING THE CHARITABLE & PHILANTHROPIC WORK OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF ALTADENA THROUGH WORK PROJECTS AND THE PROVISION OF MANPOWER TO WORTHY CAUSES AND EVENTS, AND THROUGH GRANTS OF MONEY TO SCHOOLS, PARTICULARLY THOSE SERVING THE RESIDENTS OF THE ALTADENA AREA, & OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS.ADDITIONALLY, ARC WAS ORGANIZED IN ORDER TO SUPPORT AND OVERSEE VARIOUS CHARITABLE PROJECTS OUTSIDE THE LOCAL AREA, SUCH AS THE SUPPORT OF HOUSE BUILDING PROJECTS IN MEXICO, SUPPORT FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT IN AREAS SUCH AS THE NATION OF ARMENIA, & ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN NIGERIA.ARC WAS ALSO ORGANIZED IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT THE VARIOUS PUBLIC BENEFIT PROJECTS OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL.

WE BELIEVE THAT CREATING PARKS AND TRAILS, GREEN SCHOOL CAMPUSES AND IMPROVING THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT IN METRO LOS ANGELES IS THE BEST FORM OF PREVENTIVE HEALTH FOR URBAN RESIDENTS: EQUITABLE ACCESS TO RECREATION IS A KEY FACTOR IN PROTECTING THE PUBLIC HEALTH.
