PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THE CALIFORNIA YMCA YOUTH & GOVERNMENT PROVIDED TWO MAJOR YOUTH EDUCATION CONFERENCES AND THREE TRAINING CONFERENCES FOR OVER 3,000 MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. THE STUDENTS JOIN CLUBS AT THEIR LOCAL YMCA TO PREPARE FOR, AND RAISE FUNDS FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN OUR CONFERENCES. THE HIGHLIGHT CONFERENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WAS THE 66TH ANNUAL STATE MODEL LEGISLATURE AND COURT THAT TAKES PLACE AT THE STATE CAPITOL IN SACRAMENTO. THE HIGHLIGHT CONFERENCE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WAS THE 13TH ANNUAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS EXPERIENCE THAT TAKES PLACE IN BURBANK. THE MISSION OF CALIFORNIA YMCA YOUTH & GOVERNMENT IS TO BUILD LEADERSHIP AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN CALIFORNIA'S YOUTH TO STRETHEN OUR DEMOCRACY. CALIFORNIA YMCA YOUTH & GOVERNMENT EXISTS PRIMARILY TO PARTNER WITH YMCAS TO CREATE, OPERATE AND FUND LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH THROUGH YMCA, AND WHERE NO LOCAL YMCA SUPPORT EXISTS, WILL COLLABORATE WITH OTHER INTERESTED ORGANIZATIONS.
