THE ADVOCACY PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ADVOCATE FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL POLICIES TO IMPROVE EQUITY OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL STUDENTS AND INCREASE OVERALL ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, INCLUDING ADVOCACY AND LOBBYING IN THE CALIFORNIA STATE LEGISLATURE, EXECUTIVE BRANCH REGULATORY AGENCIES, AND THE PUBLIC ON ISSUES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO PROVIDING A BETTER EDUCATION TO ALL STUDENTS IN CALIFORNIA. ADVOCACY ISSUES INCLUDE PARENTAL CHOICE, STANDARDS BASED REFORM, QUALITY SCHOOL PERSONNEL, MANDATORY ACCOUNTABILITY AND FAIR EFFICIENT AND TRANSPARENT SCHOOL FUNDING.
