EAST BAY HOUSING ORGANIZATIONS (EBHO) IS A MEMBER-DRIVEN ORGANIZATION WORKING TO CREATE, PRESERVE, AND PROTECT AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES BY ADVOCATING, ORGANIZING, EDUCATING, AND BUILDING COALITIONS.

EBHO'S PROGRAMS EDUCATE, ADVOCATE, ORGANIZE AND BUILD COALITIONS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW INCOME COMMUNITIES IN JURISDICTIONS THROUGHOUT THE EAST BAY, REGIONALLY, AND STATEWIDE. EBHO ENGAGES MEMBERS, CONSTITUENTS AND ALLIES IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING CAMPAIGNS AND INITIATIVES. ADVOCACY CAMPAIGNS: CONVENED EBHO'S MEMBERSHIP, CONSTITUENTS, AND ALLIES IN VARIOUS FORUMS TO DEVELOP AND COORDINATE LOCAL, REGIONAL, AND STATEWIDE POLICY ADVOCACY AROUND AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW INCOME COMMUNITIES. CONVENED EBHO'S OAKLAND COMMITTEE TO DEVELOP CAMPAIGN, FUNDING, AND POLICY STRATEGIES FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AND PRESERVATION. CONDUCT ZONING AND LAND USE ADVOCACY AND ADVANCE TENANTS' RIGHTS THROUGH COALITION BUILDING. FACILITATED AND LED EBHO'S CONCORD COMMITTEE AND THE COMMUNITY COALITION FOR SUSTAINABLE CONCORD TO ADVANCE THE AGENDA FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING, QUALITY JOBS, AND SUSTAINABLE EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT. CONVENED EBHO'S EAST BAY REGIONAL POLICY COMMITTEE TO COORDINATE AND PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCACY EFFORTS INCLUDING FUNDING AND INCLUSIONARY STRATEGIES SUCH AS ADVOCACY ON THE USE OF PUBLIC LAND AND LOCAL HOUSING PLANS. EBHO WORKS TO PROTECT TENANTS AND CREATE AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN CITIES THROUGHOUT THE EAST BAY. EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS:ORGANIZED EBHO'S ANNUAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING MONTH WITH 20 EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE EAST BAY TO RAISE THE PROFILE OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING NEEDS AND SOLUTIONS. UPDATED EBHO'S ONLINE STUDY ROOM, A RESOURCE FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS, STAKEHOLDERS, AND THE PUBLIC. CONDUCTED ONLINE WORKSHOP AND TRAININGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO EDUCATE ABOUT AFFORDABLE HOUSING. ORGANIZING, COALITION BUILDING, AND MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT:ENGAGED AND MOBILIZED AFFORDABLE HOUSING RESIDENTS AND FAITH COMMUNITY LEADERS ON NEIGHBORHOOD, CITYWIDE, REGIONAL, AND STATEWIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCACY ISSUES AND CAMPAIGNS. PROVIDED TRAINING, EVENTS, EMPOWERMENT, AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. CONTINUED TO TRAIN AFFORDABLE HOUSING RESIDENTS TO ENGAGE IN LEGISLATION, PUBLIC PROCESS AND ELECTORAL WORK. BUILT STRONG COALITIONS WITH INTERFAITH, COMMUNITY, LABOR ENVIRONMENTAL, INDUSTRY AND ADVOCACY LEADERS, AND ORGANIZATIONS TO WORK TOGETHER TO TAKE ACTION ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
