THE MULTI-YEAR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TO RAISE $5 MILLION IN SUPPORT OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ENLOE CARDIOVASCULAR CARE CENTER CONCLUDED IN 2021. THE NEW CENTER IS NECESSARY TO SERVE THE INCREASED POPULATION OF THE SERVICE REGION AND THE GROWTH IN CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE PREVALENT IN THE COUNTY. THE NEW CENTER HAS MORE THAN DOUBLED THE SIZE OF SPACE DEDICATED TO CARDIAC CARE, CREATING A PRE- AND POST-PROCEDURE BED SPACE, PHYSICIAN WORK-SPACE AND ALLOWED FOR RELOCATION OF DIAGNOSTIC AND LAB SERVICES TO BE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE CENTER.
CANCER SUPPORTIVE FUNDS ARE DEDICATED TO ENSURE ACCESS TO CANCER SERVICES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE, INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION COSTS, COMPRESSION GARMENTS, NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION, NURSE NAVIGATOR SERVICES AND COMPLIMENTARY TREATMENTS AIMED AT REDUCING THE UNPLEASANT EFFECTS OF TREATMENT SUCH AS ACUPUNCTURE AND EXERCISE TRAINING. ADDITIONALLY, EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS DESIGNED TO AID IN THE PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF CANCER TREATMENT ARE FUNDED BY CHARITABLE DONORS WHO GIVE TO THE ENLOE CELEBRATION COMPASSION FUND. THESE MATERIALS FOCUS ON JOURNALING TECHNIQUES, HEALING ART AND GRIEF MANAGEMENT.
IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE ENLOE HEALTH FOUNDATION PARTNERED WITH THE COMMUNITY TO RAISE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF COVID-19 VACCINATION EFFORTS TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY SAFE. MULTIPLE CLINICS WERE ESTABLISHED, INCLUDING A MOBILE CLINIC. EFFORTS INCLUDED REACHING OUT AND KEEPING THE COMMUNITY INFORMED WITH UPDATES AND HEALTH TIPS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS AS WELL AS PRODUCING EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ON THE SCREENING PROCESS AND WAYFINDING. DONORS CONTRIBUTED MORE THAN $1 MILLION TO SUPPORT THE EFFORT.
