EMANUEL MEDICAL CENTER ("EMC") WAS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE EVANGELICAL COVENANT CHURCH, WHICH FOUNDED THE HOSPITAL IN 1917. AS OF JULY 31,2014, THE HOSPITAL, ACUTE CARE PORTION OF EMC WAS SOLD TO TENET HEALTHCARE CORPORATION. THE NAME CHANGE TO EMC HEALTH, INC. WAS INCLUDED IN THIS AGREEMENT. EMC HEALTH WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY OUTREACH THROUGH JESSICA'S HOUSE AND EMC HEALTH FOUNDATION.
