PROFESSIONAL AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES NNIC IMPLEMENTS A WIDE RANGE OF GRANT PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE'S BUREAU OF EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS (ECA) TO ADVANCE U.S. FOREIGN POLICY EFFORTS. PARTICIPANTS FROM OVER 100 COUNTRIES VISIT NORTHERN NEVADA FOR SHORT-TERM PROFESSIONAL AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES TO MEET AMERICANS, ADVANCE PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND FOSTER POSITIVE RELATIONS THROUGH DIALOGUE AND UNDERSTANDING.
REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT NNIC RESETTLES REFUGEES, ASYLEES, INTERNATIONAL VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND OTHER ELIGIBLE POPULATIONS. NNIC PROVIDES WRAP AROUND SERVICES INCLUDING WELCOME SERVICES, HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, ESL, HEALTH AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, MAINLY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MANY COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS
LANGUAGE BANK AND COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS NNIC'S LANGUAGE BANK OFFERS INTERPRETATION AND TRANSLATION SERVICES IN OVER 200 LANGUAGES IN PERSON, VIA VIDEO AND/OR OVER THE PHONE. NNIC TRAINS ASPIRING INTERPRETERS AND TRANSLATORS BY OFFERING WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES.
