CONSERVATION PROGRAM OVERSIGHT AND STEWARDSHIP. WORKED WITH STAFFED AND ACCREDITED LAND TRUSTS IN TILLAMOOK, LINCOLN, AND LANE COUNTIES AND A WATERSHED COUNCIL WHO WORKS WITH THESE AND ADDITIONAL LANDTRUSTS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO BE ABLE TO PURSUE LAND CONSERVATION OPPORTUNITIES AND PROVIDE STEWARDSHIP SERVIES THAT OUR VOLUNTEER RUN GROUP IS UNABLE TO DO EFFECTIVELY.
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH. WORKED TO REACH OUT TO LANDOWNERS REGARDING CONSERVATION OPPORTUNITIES IN THE CENTRAL COAST AREA AND WORKED WITH COUNTY, NON-PROFIT AND STATE ENTITIES TO MAP AND PRIORITIZE THESE OPPORTUNITIES.
LAND STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES AND EASEMENET TRANSFER: CCLC MONITORED OUR 4 CONSERVATION EASEMENTS TO ENSURE THAT THE CONDITIOS OF THE EASEMENTS ARE NOT VIOLATED. NO VIOLATIONS WRE NOTED. CCLC ALSO WORKED WITH MCKENZIE RIVER TRUST, AN ACCREDITED LAND TRUST, TO INTRODUCE THEM TO THE LAND SUBJECT TO THE EASEMENTS AND TO THE PROPERTY OWNERS SO THAT SO THAT, OVER TIME, WE CAN TRANSFER THESE EASEMENTS TO THEM FOR CARE IN PERPETUITY. ONE EASEMENT WAS TRANSFERRED

McKenzie River Trust has agreed to continue such work in these portions of our service area. They are an accredited land trust with staff for landowner outreach, land or easement acquisition for conservation, and stewardship of these holdings. They have accepted one of our conservation easements in 2023 and we expect they will accept two or three of our easements in 2024. MIDCOAST WATERSHEDS COUNCIL PURPOSE: The CCLC is an all-volunteer group and cannot meet the great need for land conservation and stewardship that exists in Lincoln and Western Lane Counties. The MidCoast Watersheds Council is a staffed non-profit group that conserves and restores habitats for fish and wildlife, water quality and quantity and watershed health. MCWC has agreed to work with existing land trusts in our service area including Western Rivers Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, The Conservation Fund, The Wetlands Conservancy, and McKenzie River Trust to prioritize and conserve and steward land in our those parts of our service areas. Being able to work with many landtrusts to hold and steward land increases the abililty to accomplish prioritized conservation needs. | $250,000 |
