PENDLETON UNDERGROUND TOURS IS A PLACE WHERE CULTURE IS KEPT, HISTORY IS TOLD, AND LEGENDS LIVE ON. WE ARE DEDICATED TO PROMOTE AND PRESERVE THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF PENDLETON, MAINTAIN A QUALITY TOUR, AND PROMOTE TOURISM IN PENDLETON AND SURROUNDING AREAS. P.U.T. ACCOMPLISHED THIS IN 2021 BY BRINGING APPROXIMATELY 14,694 VISITORS TO THE AREA FROM ALL 50 STATES AND SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES ALL WHILE STILL EXPERIENCING CLOSURES DUE TO COVID 19. THIS INCLUDES THREE CRUISE SHIPS THE AMERICAN PRIDE, AMERICAN EMPRESS, AND QUEEN OF THE WEST THAT BUS UP TO 80 PEOPLE INTO PENDLETON 3 TIMES A WEEK FROM MARCH TO NOVEMBER. WE ALSO TAKE THROUGH SEVERAL SCHOOL GROUPS AND OTHER PRIVATE BUS TOURS. WE WORK CLOSELY WITH THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, PENDLETON DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, AND OTHER TOURIST COMMITTEES TO CONTINUOUSLY INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE VISITING PENDLETON. WE SUPPORTED OTHER NON-PROFITS BY GIVING OUT OVER 100 TOUR GIFT CERTIFICATES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN 2021 WE HELD OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISER COMES TO LIFE, WHICH INCORPORATES 75 LIVE ACTORS/VOLUNTEERS TWICE, ONCE IN MAY AND AGAIN IN OCTOBER. THIS EVENT BRINGS IN OVER 500 PEOPLE EACH TIME. DURING THIS EVENT WE WORK WITH OTHER LOCAL BUSINESSES BY INCORPORATING AND PROMOTING THEIR PRODUCTS IN THE TOUR. WE HELD 2 MURDER MYSTERY FUNDRAISERS HOSTING 50 PEOPLE PER EVENT. ONE OF OUR BIGGEST PROJECTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2021 WAS WORKING WITH THE CITY OF PENDLETON, PENDLETON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, PENDLETON DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, TRAVEL PENDLETON, AND THE PENDLETON ROUND-UP ON A PROJECT CALLED GET WILD IN PENDLETON WHICH WAS HELD EVERY SATURDAY FROM JUNE TO SEPTEMBER ON MAIN STREET IN PENDLETON. WE WERE AWARDED GRANT MONEY TO GET THE PROJECT UP AND GOING TO HELP DRIVE TOURISM TO PENDLETON AFTER THE PANDEMIC. THIS INCLUDED BRINGING IN A LIVE BAND EVERY SATURDAY, HAVING A WILD WEST SHOW, DOING HORSE AND WAGON TOURS OF THE PENDLETON ROUND-UP, OPENING THE UNDERGROUND SHAMROCK CARDROOM BAR AND DOING AN ADULT ONLY EVENING TOUR. THIS WAS A HUGE SUCCESS THAT BROUGHT PEOPLE IN FROM ALL SURROUNDING AREAS ALONG WITH LOCALS. THIS EVENT WILL BE CONTINUED ON IN 2022.
