UNITED WAY OF MAT-SU'S CORE PURPOSE IS POSITIVE COMMUNITY IMPACT FOCUSING ON THE BUILDING BLOCKS FOR A GOOD COMMUNITY: EDUCATION, INCOME AND HEALTH. WE ENVISION A COMMUNITY WHERE COMPASSION AND GENEROSITY IS VALUED AND ALL INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THRIVE. OUR MISSION IS TO MOBILIZE AND EMPOWER THE CARING COMMUNITY OF THE MAT-SU, WHILE IMPROVING THE SELF-RELIANCE OF INDIVIDUAL'S LIVES IN MEASURABLE AND LASTING WAYS.

THE EXEMPT PURPOSES OF THE THREE LARGEST PROGRAMS ARE FOR CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL, PUBLIC SAFETY, FINANCIAL STABILITY, HEALTH PROMOTION AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION. PROGRAMS PROVIDE RELIEF OF THE UNDERRESOURCED OR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED; DISASTER RESPONSE AND RECOVERY; AND STRENGTHENING NEIGHBORHOOD/COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE, SOCIAL CONNECTEDNESS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE THRIVE MAT-SU, STUFF THE BUS, EARLY CHILDHOOD PARTNERSHIP, MAT-SU VOAD, AND YOUTH 360.
