DURING THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR, THE YAKIMA ROTARY TRUST CONTINUED THEIR COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTING THE YAKIMA ROTARY, YAKIMA SOUTHWEST ROTARY, AND YAKIMA SUNRISE ROTARY CLUBS BY PROVIDING MATCHING GRANTS FOR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN YAKIMA. COMPLETED DURING THE YEAR WERE COMMITMENTS FOR THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. PLAYGROUND, THE ROTARY PLAYGROUND AT THE GREENWAY, AND SUPPORT OF OPERATION HARVEST. ALSO STARTED DURING THIS YEAR WAS SUPPORT FOR A NEW PROJECT, THE ROTARY MARKETPLACE IN DOWNTOWN YAKIMA.THE TRUST ALSO ADMINISTERS A RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIP ENTITLED THE MOLLIE DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. THIS ANNUAL PROGRAM AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO RESIDENTS OF YAKIMA COUNTY WHO PLAN TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION IN UNDERGRADUATE STUDY. RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TUITION, BOOKS AND MANDATORY CLASS FEES ARE OFFERED FOR FULL-TIME STUDY AT ACCREDITED TWO OR FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES OF THE STUDENT'S CHOICE. AS OF JUNE 2021, 446 STUDENTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIPS WITH A TOTAL VALUE OVER THE LIFE OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS OF OVER $8.5 MILLION.
