OPERATION SCHOOL BELL IS THE PRIMARY PHILANTHROPY OF ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF SEATTLE. EACH YEAR, THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES NEW CLOTHING, SHOES, AND HYGIENE KITS TO OVER 1,400 CHILDREN IN NEED, FROM OVER 60 SCHOOLS IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA. THE PROGRAM SERVES AT-RISK CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH SIXTH GRADE. THIS NEW CLOTHING REMOVES BARRIERS TO EDUCATION BY ENHANCING SELF-ESTEEM AND PROMOTING IMPROVED SCHOOL ATTENDANCE.
FINANCIAL AID FOR EDUCATION PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TUITION AND BOOKS FOR STUDENTS IN NEED WHO ARE SEEKING AN AA DEGREE OR TRANSFER DEGREE BUT MAY NOT QUALIFY FOR TRADITIONAL FINANCIAL AID. SINCE 1967, FINANCIAL AID FOR EDUCATION HAS FUNDED OVER 900 STUDENTS IN VARIOUS FIELDS: ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, COMPUTER SCIENCE, NURSING, DENTAL ASSISTING, CULINARY ARTS, GRAPHIC ARTS, AND MORE.
THE ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM GRANTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS GRADES 6 TO 11 IN A VARIETY OF FIELDS INCLUDING MUSIC, ART, SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, LANGUAGE, DRAMA, TECHNOLOGY, LEADERSHIP AND OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES.
