BETWEEN JULY 1, 2021 AND JUNE 30, 2022 THE OLYMPIA SYMPHONY PRESENTED NINE ORCHESTRAL CONCERTS, THREE OF WHICH WERE FREE TO THE PUBLIC. OUTDOOR SUMMER CONCERTS IN OLYMPIA AND NEIGHBORING RURAL TENINO DREW A COMBINED AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 2,000 AS LIVE MUSIC RETURNED TO OUR COMMUNITIES FOLLOWING THE PANDEMIC. SIX SUBSCRIPTION CONCERTS AT THE WASHINGTON CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS SERVED A COMBINED AUDIENCE OF ALMOST 3,000, AND NEARLY 500 ATTENDED THE FREE HOLIDAY SINGALONG CONCERT. SUBSCRIPTION CONCERTS FEATURED MUSIC DIRECTOR FINALIST CONDUCTORS FROM BRAZIL, GREECE, CANADA, AND THE US, PERFORMING WITH 65 LOCAL PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS. NUMEROUS SMALL ENSEMBLES VISITED RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES, COMMUNITY ARTS FESTIVALS, AND FUNDRAISING EVENTS.
BETWEEN JULY 1, 2021 AND JUNE 30, 2022 THE OLYMPIA SYMPHONY PROVIDED INSTRUCTION AT EIGHT THURSTON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOLS, AS MUSIC DIRECTOR FINALISTS CONDUCTED ORCHESTRA AND BAND REHEARSALS. IN ADDITION, FOUR REHEARSALS OF STUDENT ORCHESTRAS OF GREATER OLYMPIA (SOGO) WERE CONDUCTED BY THE VISITING ARTISTS. TWO COLLABORATIONS WERE COMPLETED AT COMMUNITY "CONDUCT US" EVENTS.
