SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES: KOKUA PROVIDED IN-HOME SUPPORT TO BETWEEN 42-45 ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES KOKUA ASSISTED THESE INDIVIDUALS TO LIVE IN TYPICAL COMMUNITY HOUSING AND TO ACCESS AND PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND SETTINGS. KOKUA PROVIDED SAFETY, HEALTH, AND MENTAL HEALTH CARE AND INSTRUCTION TO ENABLE THESE INDIVIDUALS TO LEAD FULL & MEANINGFUL LIVES. IN ADDITION TO IN-HOME SUPPORTS, KOKUA PROVIDES SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS THROUGH THE COMMUNITY GUIDE AND RESPITE PROGRAMS. THE PURPOSE OF THESE PROGRAMS IS TO INCREASE CLIENT INVOLVEMENT IN THEIR COMMUNITY AS WELL AS FOCUS ON SKILL-BUILDING AND INDEPENDENCE.
KOKUA OFFERS INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY SERVICES, WHICH INCLUDE LEAD AND HUMMINGBIRD STUDIO. LEAD IS A A LEARNER DRIVEN TUTORING AND MENTORING PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO CHOOSE EDUCATIONAL GOALS THEY WOULD LIKE TO PURSUE IN ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS WITH STUDENT VOLUNTEER TUTORS FROM THE EVERGREEN STATE COLLEGE AND ST. MARTIN'S UNIVERSITY. HUMMINGBIRD STUDIO'S GOAL IS TO CREATE AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY ART SPACE, OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS OF ALL ABILITIES TO PROMOTE CREATIVITY, INDEPENDENCE AND COMMUNITIY INTEGRATION.
