MI CENTRO HAS CONTINUED TO PROVIDE FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES TO OVER 100 VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ABUSE. THESE VICTIMS WERE PROVIDED WITH EMERGENCY SHELTER AND MOVING EXPENSES TO START A NEW HEALTHY AND SAFE LIFE. ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE ALSO INCLUDED ADVOCACY SUPPORT ON FILING RESTRAINING ORDERS, LOOKING FOR NEW HOUSING, PROVIDING HYGIENIC PACKAGES AND PROVIDING THERAPY/COUNSELING SERVICES.
FOR THE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES MI CENTRO HAS GRADUATED OVER 65 FELLOWS WHOM HAVE BEEN ASSISTED WITH FINANCIAL STIPENDS AS WELL AS RESOURCES OF INTERNSHIPS, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND NETWORKING EVENTS.
FOR SOCIAL SERVICES MI CENTRO, IN COLLABORATION WITH PIERCE COUNTY, HAS PROVIDED RENTAL ASSISTANCE TO OVER 500 HOUSEHOLDS TOTALING DISTRIBUTION OF OVER $3 MILLION. THIS HAS HELPED FAMILIES TO MAINTAIN SAFE HOUSING AS THEY CONTINUE TO SURVIVE THIS PANDEMIC. ALONG WITH THIS, MI CENTRO HAS ALSO PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO COMMUNITIES VIA 1,500 PHONE CALLS RECEIVED.
