Part 3 - Line 4a
THE UNITED STATES AND THE WORLD LEARNED TO NAVIGATE THROUGH THE PANDEMIC AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WAS NO EXCEPTION TO THE REST OF THE INDUSTRIES OF THE WORLD. COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS BEGAN TO RESPOND TO THE CHANGED HABITS OF BUSINESS AND OUR COMMUNITY WAS THE BENEFICIARY OF SOME OF THE COMPANIES WHO ADAPTED TO THE INCREASED INTEREST OF DOING BUSINESS ONLINE. LEDA WORKED WITH DEVELOPERS WHO DESIGNED AND BUILT A NEW SORTATION FACILITY FOR AMAZON. THE NEW $90+ MILLION FACILITY REQUIRED THAT LEDA EXTEND THE ROADS AND UTILITIES AT LUBBOCK BUSINESS PARK. STARTING EARLY IN THE FISCAL YEAR THE LBP WAS BUZZING WITH ACTIVITY WITH THE NEW ROAD AND UTILITY PROJECTS AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE AMAZON BUILDING. SIMULTANEOUSLY LEDA ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH A DALLAS DEVELOPER TO CONSTRUCT A 201,000 SQUARE FOOT SPECULATIVE BUILDING AT THE PARK. ONE OF THE CHALLENGES FOR BUSINESSES IN LUBBOCK IS THE LIMITED AMOUNT OF BUILDINGS READY FOR OCCUPANCY IN THE AREA. THE ADDITION OF A BUILDING OF THIS SIZE PROVIDES A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR LEDA TO WORK WITH COMPANIES TO EXPAND TO LUBBOCK. WORKFORCE TRAINING EFFORTS CONTINUED THAT PROVIDED NEW TECHNICAL TRAINING EQUIPMENT TO AREA SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO TRAIN THEIR STUDENTS TO BE READY TO ENTER THE JOB MARKET UPON GRADUATION. ABOUT MID-YEAR INTEREST IN BUSINESS EXPANSION TO LUBBOCK BEGAN TO PICK UP FROM ACROSS THE NATION. THE LEDA SALES STAFF RESUMED TRAVEL AND ENTERED INTO NEGOTIATIONS WITH SEVERAL NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES TO CONSIDER EXPANSION INTO THE LUBBOCK MARKET. LEDA AND LUBBOCK ARE POISED TO MOVE FORWARD AS LIFE RETURNS MORE TO NORMAL.
