COMMERCIALIZATION PROGRAMACTIVELY FACILITATES LOCAL BIOTECH BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND JOB CREATION THROUGH SUBSIDIZED OR FREE CONSULTING SERVICES, INCLUDING BUSINESS PLAN WRITING, MARKET RESEARCH, SECURING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, FORMING A MANAGEMENT TEAM, AND RAISING FINANCING THROUGH GRANT APPLICATIONS AND CONNECTIONS WITH VENTURE CAPITAL FIRMS.THIS PROGRAM ALSO AIMS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF COMMERCIALIZATION RESEARCH AS A POTENTIAL OUTCOME FOR ACADEMIC RESEARCH THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS AND AN ANNUAL MINI-CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE DEVELOPING BIOTECH INFRASTRUCTURE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN NEW ORLEANS AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
