MISSIONTO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT A DIETARY AND NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM FOR AFRICAN AMERICANS, BEGINNING WITH AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH A FOCUS ON THE PREVENTION AND REDUCTION OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, CANCER, AND DIABETES, DURING THEIR LATER YEARS AS ADULTS.ACTIVITIES GOALSI. TO USE: 1.) THE CURRENT GUIDELINES FOR DIETARY MANAGEMENT FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION (AHA) AND AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY TO HELP PREVENT AND REDUCE CARDIOVASCULAR RISK AMONG AFRICAN AMERICANS, AND 2.) THE CURRENT GUIDELINES FOR DIETARY MANAGEMENT FROM AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION AND THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTIONS (CDC) NATIONAL DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM TO DELAY AND PREVENT TYPE-2 DIABETES, ALSO AMONG AFRICAN AMERICANS.
