COMMUNITY-WIDE EDUCATION & RESOURCES: PPMNY OFFERS ACCESSIBLE VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON EVENTS THAT EDUCATE DIVERSE RESIDENTS OF THE NEW YORK METRO AREA ON THE LARGE AND GROWING BASE OF EVIDENCE SUPPORTING PLANT-BASED NUTRITION FOR OPTIMAL HEALTH AND HEALING -- AND ALSO PROVIDE SKILL-BUILDING AND SUPPORT FOR ADOPTING A HEALTH-PROMOTING DIET AND LIFESTYLE. EFFORTS INCLUDE OUTREACH THROUGH HEALTH AND COMMUNITY FAIRS, PRESENTATIONS AND PANELS, FILM SCREENINGS, CULINARY DEMONSTRATIONS, COOK-ALONGS/COMMUNAL MEAL PREP, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND MARKET AND SHOPPING TOURS. COMPLEMENTARY RESOURCES/TOOLS INCLUDE A COMMUNITY-GENERATED RECIPE APP AND CULTURALLY-SPECIFIC MEAL PREPARATION GUIDES.
