TO EDUCATE AND ADVOCATE WITH COMMUNITY INPUT AND PARTICIPATON THE INCORPORATION OF VAIL, ARIZONA

DURING THE YEAR, A SERIES OF TOWN HALL MEETINGS WERE HELD, BOTH IN PERSON AND VIA ZOOM. EACH MEETING HAD PRESENTERS, FORMER AND CURRENT TOWN/CITY MANAGERS, PRESIDENT OF THE ARIZONA LEAGUE OF CITIES, AND MAYORS OF SMALL TOWNS IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA. THEIR TOPICS INCLUDED THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF BECOMING INCORPORTATED. MEETINGS WERE ALSO HELD WITH VARIOUS HOAS IN THE AREA OF INTEREST TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND PRESENT INFORMAITON REGARDING THE INCORPORATION PROCESS. A SPECIAL EVENT CALLED LOVE VAIL WAS HELD FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY TO PROMOTE THE IDEA OF BECOMING A TOWN.A MARKETING FIRM WAS ENGAGED TO DEVELOP A SURVEY WHICH WAS SENT TO ALL RESIDENCE RESIDING IN THE AREA OF INTEREST, WITH THE OBJECTIVE TO OBTAIN INFORMATION AS TO WHAT PERCENTAGE OF THE RESIDENCE WOULD BE FOR OR AGAINST INCORPORATION. UNFORTUNATELY, THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY SHOWED A MAJORITY OF THE RESIDENCE WERE OPPOSSED TO INCORPORATION. A FINAL SUREVY WAS CONDUCTED AND A MAP DRAWN OF THE FINALIZED PROPOSED BOUNDRY OF THE TOWN OF VAIL TO EXHIBIT TO THE RESIDENTS.A SECOND WEBSITE, LOVEVAIL.ORG WAS DEVELOPED TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY INFORMED AND UP TO DATE ON THE ON-GOING INCORPORATION PROCESS. THE WEBSITE INCLUDED FAQS AS TO HOW INCORPORATING WOULD BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY AND TO INFORM WITH FACTS.
