TO BE A VEHICLE OF TRUE HELP AND CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNITY. IT IS OUR MISSION TO REACH THE NEEDS OF THE UNDERPRIVILEGED IN OUR COMMUNITY BY OFFERING ASSITANCE TO OUR AT-RISK YOUTH THROUGH A NETWORK OF VOLUNTEERS.

2022 WAS A YEAR OF BUILDING FOR THE BEEGINS WITH YOU FOUNDATION OF MARTINSVILLE AND HENRY COUNTY. EARLY MONTHS WERE SPENT WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, BYLAWS, AND STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES AND POLICIES. GREAT THOUGHT WAS PUT INTO THE CODE OF CONDUCT, CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY, DOCUMENT RETENTION AND DESTRUCTION POLICY, GIFT ACCEPTANCE POLICY AND WHISTLEBLOWER POLICY. AFTER AN ENVIRONMENT OF TRUST, SAFETY, AND OPENNESS WAS FORMED, BEEGINS WITH YOU BEGAN TO BUILD ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS. EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WAS BROUGHT ON BECAUSE OF A DIRECT SKILLSET AND A HEART FOR THEIR COMMUNITY. ONBOARDING DOCUMENTS FOR BOD MEMBERS WERE DRAFTED AND ALL WERE CAREFULLY VETTED. VOLUNTEERING POLICIES WERE WRITTEN AND AN ONBOARDING PROCESS FOR VOLUNTEERS WAS IMPLEMENTED. ALL VOLUNTEERS WILL UNDERGO A BACKGROUND CHECK AND PROVIDE ID VERIFICATION BEFORE WORKING WITH BEEGINS WITH YOU.BEEGINS WITH YOU FOUNDATION NEXT RENTED AND FURNISHED ITS OFFICE SPACE, LOCATED AT 209 B STARLING AVENUE. IN THIS PROCESS, THE FOUNDATION WORKED WITH LOCAL ARTISTS AND SHOP OWNERS TO BOTH SUPPORT AND SHOWCASE WHAT OUR AREA HAS TO OFFER. AN EVENT SPACE WAS SET UP FOR FOUNDATION FUNCTIONS, AS WELL AS THE OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FOUNDATIONS FIRST PROGRAM TOOK PLACE IN THE SUMMER AND FALL. THE SUPPORTER BEE PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED AS THE FOUNDATION COLLABORATED WITH LOCAL COUNSELORS TO SUPPORT STUDENTS MENTAL HEALTH. THE PROGRAM FUNDS MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WHOSE FAMILIES ARE UNABLE TO AFFORD OUTPATIENT THERAPY. THE INTENT IS NOT ONLY TO PAY FOR STUDENT TREATMENT, BUT ALSO TO PROVIDE A SUPPORTER BEE WHO WILL BE WITH THE STUDENT ON ALL STEPS OF THEIR JOURNEY. THIS FOUNDATION VOLUNTEER WILL MEET WITH THE STUDENT AND COUNSELOR TO ASCERTAIN PROGRESS AT DESIGNATED POINTS, KEEP IN CONTACT WITH THE STUDENT AND THEIR PARENTS, AND SEND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE STUDENT DURING THE TREATMENT PROCESS. AFTER THE PROGRAM DESIGN WAS COMPLETED, BEEGINS WITH YOU MET WITH LOCAL COUNSELORS, SCHOOL PERSONNEL, AND OTHER FOUNDATIONS TO BRING ABOUT AWARENESS. THE PROGRAM WENT LIVE IN NOVEMBER AND IS CURRENTLY SUPPORTING STUDENTS IN HENRY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
