THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ARIZONA ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL SOCIETY (AAHS) ARE: TO ENCOURAGE SCHOLARLY PURSUITS INTO THE HISTORY AND ANTHROPOLOGY OF THE SOUTHWEST UNITED STATES AND NORTHWEST MEXICO; (SEE SCHEDULE O FOR FULL MISSION STATEMENT)

DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022-23, THE SOCIETY CONTINUES TO PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR THE ARIZONA STATE MUSEUM, A NUMBER OF INDIVIDUAL RESEARCHERS AND ORGANIZATIONS, AND TO OFFER EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES TO MEMBERS THROUGH PUBLICATIONS, PROGRAM PRESENTATIONS, AND FIELD TRIPS. THE THREE LARGEST SERVICES IN TERMS OF EXPENSES INCURRED WERE PRESENTING MORE THAN $14,000 TO THE ARIZONA STATE MUSEUM LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES, AND AWARDS OF $5,000 AND $3,000 TO M. HOPKINS AND K. HANSON FOR RESEARCH PROJECTS. A TOTAL OF MORE THAN $15,000 WAS DISTRIBUTED TO INDIVIDUALS AS RESEARCH AND TRAVEL GRANTS. MEMBERSHIP AT THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR STOOD AND 551 INDIVIDUAL AND INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS.
