HERITAGE ADVOCATES URBAN CONSERVATION IN THE PUBLIC-DECISION MAKING PROCESS BY MONTIRING PROJECTS AND POLCIES THAT AFFECT HISTORIC RESOURCES AT THE SAN FRANCISCO PLANNING COMMISSION HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS,AND BY PROVIDING A FORUM FOR PUBLIC AWARENESS. OTHER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE WALKING TOURS OF SAN FRANCISCO SPECIAL TOURS AND LECTURES 560 ATTEND THESE ABOUT ITS SIGNFICANT STRUCTURES AND ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY AND A BOOK STORE. HERITAGE MONITORS 59 PRESERVATION EASEMENTS ENSURING THE FCADES OF HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURES RE MAINTAINED IN PERPETUITY.


HERITAGE OWNS AND MAINTAINS AN 1886 QUEEN ANNE VICTORIAN HOUSE MUSEUAM OPEN THREE DAYS A WEEK AND BY APPOINTMENT TO GROUPS GUIDED BY DOCENTS


HERITAGE OWNS THE DOOLAN LRSON BUILDING AND STOREFRONTS LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF HAIGHT AND ASHBURY. THE DOOLAN LARSON BUILDING SERVES AS A CENTER FORTHE INTERPRETATION AND PRESERVATION OF HAIGHT-ASHBURY'S MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO AMERICA'S COUNTERCULTURAL LEGACY
