UNTIL WE ARE ALL FREE IS A HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION LED BY FORMERLY INCARCERATED CRIMINAL JUSTICE EXPERTS. WE FOCUS ON BUILDING CAPITAL, RESOURCES AND SUPPORT TO PROVIDE PATHWAYS TO CIVIC AND ECONOMIC LIBERATION FOR INDIVIDUALS DISENFRANCHISED BY MASS INCARCERATION.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE 3L PROGRAM, KNOWN AS POST-RELEASE, LAND, LEARN, AND LAUNCH, IS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS REINTEGRATING INTO SOCIETY AFTER RELEASE FROM INCARCERATION. ON THE DAY OF RELEASE, PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE A WELCOME HOME KIT, CLOTHING/SHOES FUNDS, AND FUNDS FOR A REENTRY SAVINGS ACCOUNT. IN THE FIRST 60 DAYS, FELLOWS ARE PROVIDED WITH A PROJECT STIPEND TO COLLABORATIVELY WORK ON JUSTICE-RELATED PROJECTS WHILE IDENTIFYING THEIR LONG-TERM PERSONAL GOALS. DURING THIS PERIOD, FELLOWS ENGAGE IN INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE LEARNING SESSIONS TAILORED TO THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS. THE FOCUS INCLUDES AREAS SUCH AS TECHNOLOGY AND INTERNET SKILLS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL AND RELATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, FAMILY REUNIFICATION, BALANCE AND SELF-CARE, AS WELL AS COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AND LEADERSHIP. AS FELLOWS IDENTIFY THEIR SKILLS AND PATHWAYS, THE UWAAF MOVEMENT COVERS THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH BUSINESS STARTUPS, SUPPLIES, AND GENERAL LAUNCH EXPENSES ALIGNED WITH THE INDIVIDUAL'S GOALS. THIS COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM AIMS TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS TO SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATE THEIR REENTRY JOURNEY AND PURSUE MEANINGFUL PATHS IN SOCIETY.


INTERNAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM THE INVESTMENT TOWARDS THE INTERNAL NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ARE CURRENTLY INCARCERATED IS THE PATHWAY TO SUCCESS AND LIBERATION. THROUGH APPLICATION PROCESS, UWAAF SERVES THE INDIVIDUALS IN MINNESOTA CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES WHO HAVE TAKEN THE STEPS NECESSARY TO BE A ROLE MODEL AND LEADER WHILE INCARCERATED. WE SUPPORT THESE INDIVIDUALS BY PROVIDING AND CONNECTING THEM TO THE WORK HAPPENING IN COMMUNITY AND PROVIDING ACCESS TO AN EDUCATIONAL BUDGET FOR BOOKS AND MATERIALS WHILE REMOVING THE FINANCIAL BARRIERS TO SUCCESS. WE DO THIS BY COVERING THE COSTS OF COMMUNICATION (PHONE AND STAMPS), CANTEEN/COMMISSARY, AND BUILDING A RE-ENTRY SAVINGS ACCOUNT THAT WE CONTRIBUTE TO EVERY MONTH. INTERNAL INVESTMENT IS ESSENTIAL TO ENSURE OUR FUTURE COMMUNITY MEMBERS COME HOME WITH A SENSE OF BELONGING AND STABILITY. IF WE HAVE NO LEG TO STAND ON, WERE BOUND TO FALL. WE STRIVE TO BUILD SOLID FOUNDATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS TO LAND ON UPON RELEASE.
