HOUSING:CAP'S HOUSING PROGRAMS PROVIDED STABILITY TO OVER 690 HOUSEHOLDS A YEAR THROUGH SERVICES SUCH AS EMERGENCY, TRANSITIONAL, RAPID, REHOUSING AND PERMANENT HOUSING PROGRAMS. THESE HOUSEHOLDS CONSISTED OF A TOTAL OF 1565 PERSONS. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES ASSISTANCE FOR HOMELESS, SHORT-TERM ASSISTANCE, HOMELESS PREVENTION, AND OTHER WRAP AROUND SERVICES TO ASSIST PERSONS IN NEED OF HOUSING.
CHILD EDUCATION:HEAD START IS A BIRTH TO FIVE PROGRAM THAT PROMOTES SHOOL READINESS FOR LOW-INCOME CHILDREN WHILE SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WHOLE CHILD. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES CENTER-BASED EDUCATION, SOCIAL SERVICES, HEALTH, AND NUTRITION SERVICES TO 186 CHILDREN, AGES 3-4 YEARS OLD, LIVING IN SCOTT, CARVER, AND DAKOTA COUNTIES. IN ADDITION, THE PROGRAM OPERATES AN EARLY HEAD START HOME VISITING MODEL FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND CHILDREN BIRTH - 3 YEARS OLD. EARLY HEAD START SERVES 81 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.IN OUR 2022-23 PROGRAM YEAR, ON AVERAGE, 76% OF OUR 3 AND 4-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN MET OR EXCEEDED IN THEIR DEVELOPMENTAL OUTCOMES. THE DEVELOPMENTAL AREAS ASSESSED IN OUR PROGRAM WERE IN SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SKILLS, COGNITIVE, LANGUAGE, LITERACY, MATHEMATICS, AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. OF THE CHILDREN ENROLLED IN OUR PROGRAM, 100% ARE UP TO DATE ON MEDICAL AND DENTAL EXAMS. ALSO,100% OF OUR HEAD START FAMILIES PARTICIPATED IN A GOAL SETTING PROCESS RESULTING IN A FAMILY PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT.
FOOD PROGRAMS:THE FOOD & NUTRITION PROGRAMS INCLUDE FOOD SHELF AND SENIOR NUTRITION. THE FOOD SHELF UTILIZES A CLIENT-CHOICE MODEL TO PROVIDE A 10-DAY SUPPLY OF FOOD EACH CALENDAR MONTH. THE FOOD SHELF ALSO DELIVERS FOOD TO SENIOR HOUSING BUILDINGS AND PROVIDES POP-UP FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS IN SCOTT, CARVER AND DAKOTA COUNTIES. THE FOOD SHELF PROVIDED 110,750 RESIDENTS WITH 2,550,488 POUNDS OF FOOD. THE SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM CONTINUES TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE, WELL-BALANCED MEALS TO ELDERLY AND DISABLED PERSONS IN CONGREGATE SETTINGS AND HOME DELIVERED MEALS TO HOME BOUND INDIVIDUALS. SENIOR NUTRITION PROVIDED 128,957 NUTRITIOUS, HOT MID-DAY MEALS TO 1,084 SENIORS THROUGHOUT SCOTT, CARVER AND DAKOTA COUNTIES.
