VALLEY YOUTH THEATRE (VYT) RETURNED TO LIVE PRODUCTIONS IN FEBRUARY 2022 AND WAS ABLE TO HOST 2 MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS DURING THE 2021-2022 SEASON DUE TO COVID-19 AND ITS EFFECTS ON PEOPLE GATHERING. "DEAR 2020!" WAS A PLAY BASED ON MONOLOGUES WRITTEN BY THE YOUNG ACTORS IN THE PRODUCTION WHICH RAN IN FEBRUARY 2022, AND "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" ENDED OUR SEASON IN JUNE 2022. NEARLY 4,400 ATTENDED THESE TWO PRODUCTIONS. VALLEY YOUTH THEATER REACHED OVER 1,067 PARTICIPANTS WITH BOOKS AND A STREAMED PERFORMANCE OF A PAST VYT PRODUCTION THROUGH OUR LITERACY AND THE ARTS PROGRAM AND 3,566 STUDENTS THROUGH VIRTUAL AND LIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, FIELD TRIPS AND SHOWCASES. OVER 6,800 PEOPLE VIEWED OUR VIRTUAL VYTAL AFFAIR-A-THON 2021, FEATURING THE TALENT OF OVER 65 PERFORMERS.69 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED 1,112 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO VALLEY YOUTH THEATRE. VYT REACHED OVER 400 CHILDREN THROUGH OUR SPONSOR A SEAT PROGRAM IN JUNE 2022.
