TO EMPOWER YOUTH TO PROMOTE GLOBAL PEACE & DIGNITY THROUGH CULTURAL EXCHANGE, PERFORMING ARTS & DIALOGUE. OUR PROGRAMS BRING YOUTH FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS & CULTURES TO BE CULTURALLY COMPETENT, GLOBAL CITIZENS WHO LEAD POSITIVE CHANGE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.

Part 3 - Line 4a
OUR FLAGSHIP PROGRAM, VOICES BY UP WITH PEOPLE, IS AN ARTS-BASED, CROSS-CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM FOR YOUTH AGES 18-24, THAT INCLUDES LEADERSHIP TRAINING, COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND LEARNING THROUGH CULTURAL IMMERSION AND PERFORMING ARTS. THE 12-WEEK PROGRAM INCLUDES 50 YOUTH, CALLED A CAST, TRAVELLING TO 5-6 CITIES IN MULTIPLE REGIONS WHO LIVE WITH HOST FAMILIES AND LOCAL YOUTH, DEVELOP CROSS-CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING AND BUILD LIFELONG RELATIONSHIPS. THEY PARTICIPATE IN AN EXPERIENTIAL GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP CURRICULUM EMBEDDED IN WORKSHOPS WITH LOCAL ARTISTS, ARTISANS, AND LEADERSHIP EXPERTS. THE CAST COLLABORATES WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO FORM COHORTS AND DESIGN SOCIAL ACTION PROJECTS AROUND THE UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, TO IMPLEMENT IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. EACH CITY VISIT CULMINATES WITH A VOICES FESTIVAL AND UP WITH PEOPLE SHOW WHICH THE CAST CO CREATES WITH PARTNERS, LOCAL YOUTH AND ARTISTS. THE PROGRAM FOSTERS GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP, LEADERSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS, EMPLOYABILITY AND ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSETS AND A STRONG SENSE OF PURPOSE AND DESIRE TO MAKE A MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.THE INAUGURAL VOICES PROGRAM TRAVEL THROUGH MEXICO, COLOMBIA, COSTA RICA AND GUATEMALA. THIS CAST OF 40 YOUTH ENGAGED OVER 4,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PERFORMED FOR NEARLY 3,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS, STAYED WITH HOST FAMILIES, PARTICIPATED IN REFORESTATION, HEARD FROM GUEST SPEAKERS, AND LEARNED FROM GUIDED TOURS AND PERSONAL EXPLORATION OF THESE CULTURES.
