TAKECHARGE'S MISSION IS TO BE A POWERFUL FORCE TO PROMOTE THAT THE PROMISE OF AMERICA IS AVAILABLE TO ANYONE REGARDLESS OF RACE OR SOCIAL STATION. IN THE RACIALLY DIVISIVE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH WE CURRENTLY LIVE, OUR FOUNDERS HAVE A UNIQUE VANTAGE POINT TO CONVEY A COUNTER MESSAGE, ENCOURAGE UNITY, AND PLANT SEEDS OF CHANGE DESPERATELY NEEDED IN THE TWIN CITIES AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY. OUR MESSAGE IS A DIRECT COUNTER TO THE NARRATIVE OFTEN TOUTED IN THE MEDIA AND ACADEMIA.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
NOW IN OUR SECOND YEAR, TAKECHARGE (TC) CONTINUES TO BE A POWERFUL FORCE TO PROMOTE ITS CORE MESSAGE THAT THE PROMISE OF AMERICA IS AVAILABLE TO ANYONE REGARDLESS OF RACE OR SOCIAL STATION. IN THE RACIALLY DIVISIVE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH WE CURRENTLY LIVE, TC'S FOUNDERS HAVE A UNIQUE VANTAGE POINT TO CONVEY A COUNTER MESSAGE, ENCOURAGE UNITY, AND PLANT SEEDS OF CHANGE DESPERATELY NEEDED IN THE TWIN CITIES AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY. TC'S MESSAGE IS A DIRECT COUNTER TO THE NARRATIVE OFTEN TOUTED IN THE MEDIA AND ACADEMIA. WE CONTINUE TO RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS FROM THE BLACK COMMUNITY TO HELP REINFORCE CHANGE AND PROMOTE UNIFICATION. MULTI-MEDIA:TC USES A MULTI-MEDIA PLATFORM TO COMMUNICATE OUR MESSAGE AND ENACT CHANGE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY. WE PUBLISH ARTICLES AND APPEAR ON NATIONAL AND LOCAL RADIO AND TV NEWS PLATFORMS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FOX AND FRIENDS, THE TUCKER CARLSON SHOW, AMERICA'S NEWSROOM WITH BILL HEMMER, AND THE DENNIS PRAGER SHOW. MR. QUALLS HAS PUBLISHED OP-EDS IN THE NEW YORK TIMES, WASHINGTON TIMES, THE FEDERALIST, REAL CLEAR POLITICS, THE CHRISTIAN POST AND THE MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE. WE CONTINUE TO SPEAK TO DOZENS OF GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE METRO AND GREATER MINNESOTA EDUCATING PARENTS, CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS, AND SCHOOLS ON THE DANGERS OF CRITICAL RACE THEORY AND DISPUTING CLAIMS OF SYSTEMIC RACISM, WHILE ENCOURAGING UNITY AND EQUIPPING CITIZENS TO PUSH BACK AGAINST THE DIVISIVE NARRATIVE. IN ADDITION TO A MULTI-MEDIA PLATFORM, TC IS FORMING COALITIONS WITH LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND PASTORS FROM THE BLACK COMMUNITY TO SPEAK WITH CHILDREN, MOTHERS, AT-RISK TEENS AND EX-FELONIES USING THE ORGANIZATION'S FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES:1. THE PROMISE OF AMERICA IS AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF SKIN COLOR OR SOCIAL STATION.2. THE PRIVATE SECTOR AND FREE ENTERPRISE ARE THE FASTEST ROUTE FROM POVERTY TO PROSPERITY FOR ALL AMERICANS. 3. A QUALITY EDUCATION IS THE GATEWAY TO PROSPERITY AND PARENTS DESERVE SCHOOL CHOICE TO ENSURE THEIR CHILDREN HAVE ACCESS TO A QUALITY EDUCATION. 4. RESTORING THE TRADITIONAL NUCLEAR FAMILY IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY SHOULD BE A PRIORITY BOTH LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY.BECAUSE MUCH OF THE POPULATION USES CINEMA AS AN EDUCATIONAL MEDIUM, TC HAS PRODUCED THE LARGEST VIDEO LIBRARY OF BLACK AMERICANS THAT DENOUNCE CRITICAL RACE THEORY, BLACK LIVES MATTER (BLM) AND PROMOTE THE TRADITIONAL VALUES OF AMERICA AS A FORMULA FOR SUCCESS. WE ALSO PRODUCED A ONE-HOUR DOCUMENTARY, I AM A VICTOR, WHICH EXPOSES THE FALLACY OF THE PROGRESSIVE LEFT'S NARRATIVE THAT AMERICA IS SYSTEMICALLY RACIST AND BLACK AMERICANS ARE VICTIMS.THE FILM, WHICH IS AVAILABLE ON SALEMNOW, HAS RECEIVED NATIONAL ATTENTION AND WAS FEATURED AT TWO SUMMER FILM FESTIVALS IN NYC AND LAS VEGAS. IN ADDITION, VICTOR WAS FEATURED IN A NEW YORK POST ARTICLE ALONG WITH FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT, KENDALL QUALLS. THIS CINEMA PLATFORM WILL CONTINUE TO BE A BEDROCK OF COMMUNICATION FOR TC AS WE CONVEY OUR MESSAGE TO THE MASSES AND RECRUIT ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS IN MINNESOTA AND OTHER STATES.TC HAS HELD SEVEN PRIVATE SHOWINGS OF THE FILM IN THE METRO AND THROUGHOUT GREATER MINNESOTA, INCLUDING MANKATO, ALEXANDRIA, ST. CLOUD, AND ROCHESTER, AND A NEW HIGH SCHOOL CHAPTER OF TURNING POINT USA. IN 2021, TC HOSTED JASON RILEY AT OUR ANNUAL GALA.
