THE ORGANIZATION INCREASED ITS STAFF TO INCLUDE A PROJECT COORDINATOR UNDER A NEW AIR MONITORING PARTNERSHIP WITH CLEANAIRENC. EJCAN BEGAN RECRUITMENT OF AIR FELLOWS WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING PURPLEAIR MONITORS AT THEIR HOMES AND HAVING THE RESULTS UPLOADED FOR US IN A SYSTEM TO TRACK AIR QUALITY IN SAMPSON COUNTY. THE PROGRAM RECRUITED 20 COUNTY RESIDENTS DURING 2023 AND WILL CONTINUE RECRUITMENT UNTIL 30 RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AND TRAINED ON THE USE OF THESE MONITORS.IN ADDITION, EJCAN WILL CONTINUE TO PARTNER WITH THE NC DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES TO EXPAND ITS WATER TESTING WORK IN THE COUNTY. RESEARCH TRIANGLE INSTITUTE WILL ALSO PARTNER WITH EJCAN ON ADDITIONAL PROJECTS TO STUDY AIR QUALITY.
