THE MISSION OF THE PLACITAS ARTISTS SERIES IS TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND SUPPORT OF THE PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS IN SOUTHERN SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM BY PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY PERFORMANCES AND EXHIBITS IN A STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT; AND TO PROVIDE OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO OUR COMMUNITY.

PAS PRESENTED 9 CHAMBER/SMALL ENSEMBLE MUSICAL PROGRAMS IN THE VILLAGE OF PLACITAS, NM. ALL CONCERTS WERE PRESENTED TO A LIVE AUDIENCE, IN COMPLIANCE WITH COVID-19 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS IN PLACE AT THE TIME OF THE CONCERTS. SEVEN OF THE PROGRAMS WERE ADDITIONALLY LIVE-STREAMED FOR VIEWING BY PERSONS RELUCTANT TO PARTICIPATE IN GROUP ACTIVITIES. THE VIDEOS WERE AVAILABLE TO ALL TICKET HOLDERS FOR THE WEEK FOLLOWING THE CONCERT.
PAS PRESENTED 9 JURIED VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MUSICAL PROGRAMS. ALL WORKS OF ART WERE FOR SALE, AND A PERCENTAGE OF THE PROCEEDS BENEFITTED THE VENUE AND PLACITAS ARTISTS SERIES, WITH THE BULK PAID TO THE ARTISTS. WALL ART REMAINED ON DISPLAY THROUGHOUT THE MONTH. ART HANGING EXPENSES WERE THE VALUE OF VOLUNTEER DONATIONS
COMMUNITY OUTREACH WAS LIMITED THIS YEAR BECAUSE SCHOOLS WERE STILL NOT OPERATING NORMALLY. STUDENTS WERE OFFERED FREE ACCESS TO THOSE CONCERTS THAT WERE LIVE-STREAMED. K-12 STUDENTS ACCOMPANIED BY A PAYING ADULT ARE ALWAYS ADMITTED TO CONCERTS FREE OF CHARGE, AND FREE TICKETS ARE OFFERED FOR EVERY CONCERT THROUGH THE COUNTY SENIOR AFFAIRS OFFICE.
