SUGAR RIVER SENIOR CENTER WAS ABLE TO EXPAND THE CLASSES AND SERVICES FOR OLDER ADULTS IN OUR AREA. WE ADDED NEW PROGRAMMING FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS ACTIVITIES ESPECIALLY. THE LEADERS OF THESE CLASSES WERE ALL VOLUNTEERS AND THERE WERE LITTLE TO NO EXPENSES TO RUN THE ACTIVITIES.
GENERAL OPERATION OF SENIOR CENTER FACILITY FOR ALL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
SUGAR RIVER SENIOR CENTER SERVED HOME DELIVERED MEALS IN 2023, WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 25 MEALS A DAY, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FOR LUNCH. WE HAVE A TEAM OF RSVP VOLUNTEERS THAT DELIVERED THOSE MEALS TO THE SENIORS THAT NEEDED THEM. THE TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS NUMBERS ABOUT 15 PEOPLE THAT TAKE DIFFERENT DAYS/WEEKS TO DELIVER 1 OF OUR 3 ROUTES OF MEALS. THERE IS INCOME FROM DANE COUNTY THAT HELPS TO PAY FOR THE KITCHEN STAFF SALARY BUT ALL EXPENSES FOR THIS ACTIVITY ARE WORKED OUT THROUGH THE COUNTY.
SUGAR RIVER SENIOR CENTER HOSTED A COLOR RUN FUNDRAISER IN COORDINATION WITH OUR CRAFT AND VENDOR FAIR FOR BELLEVILLE'S UFO DAY EVENTS. THIS IS ONE OF OUR BIGGEST FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND HELPS TO FUND PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
