BIOGRAPHERS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION SPONSORS AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE THAT BRINGS TOGETHER HUNDREDS OF WORKING BIOGRAPHERS, WOULD-BE BIOGRAPHERS, LITERARY AGENTS, AND EDITORS TO TAKE PART IN TWO DAYS OF PANEL DISCUSSIONS, ROUNDTABLE SESSIONS, AND TO HEAR GUEST SPEAKERS TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR CRAFT. BIO HELD THE 2022 CONFERENCE ONLINE MAY 13-15. BIO PRODUCED OTHER EVENTS ONLINE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, INCLUDING WORKSHOPS AND ROUNDTABLES AND INTERVIEWS WITH PROMINENT BIOGRAPHERS, AND CONTINUED ITS POPULAR PODCAST SERIES FEATURING AUTHORS OF NEW BIOGRAPHIES. THE NINTH ANNUAL EDITORIAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS WAS HELD ONLINE IN NOVEMBER HONORING GERALD HOWARD, WHO RETIRED IN 2020 AS EXECUTIVE EDITOR AND VICE PRESIDENT OF DOUBLEDAY BOOKS AFTER ALMOST 50 YEARS IN PUBLISHING. MEMBERS WERE KEPT UPDATED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH THE BIO WEBSITE AND WITH THE MONTHLY BIOGRAPHERS CRAFT NEWSLETTER, WHICH OFFERS EXCLUSIVE IN-DEPTH FEATURES, INTERVIEWS, ADVICE, AND INSIGHTS ABOUT THE ART AND CRAFT OF BIOGRAPHY.
